Carly Gasior

I am a licensed psychologist in Maryland and have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults with a variety of difficulties impacting their lives, including anxiety, depression, opposition/defiance, trauma, family conflict, anger, interpersonal problems, school problems, self-harm behaviors, and attention and behavior problems. My strengths-based, integrative, and collaborative approach promotes an individual’s success across settings. I also conduct psychological and psycho-educational evaluations, including cognitive, educational, personality, socio-emotional and diagnostic assessment, to inform treatment and provide recommendations for children and adolescents.

Professional Experience

I focused my training on providing therapy and assessment services in a variety of mental health settings, including schools, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, medical, and residential psychiatric rehabilitation treatment facilities. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester, and I hold a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I enhanced my individual and family therapy skills through my pre-doctoral clinical internship and first post-doctoral fellowship at The Child and Family Therapy clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. I further honed my skills in trauma-related assessment and treatment at The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at the Kennedy Krieger Institute through a second post-doctoral fellowship. I have also co-authored journal articles, a book chapter, and presented at professional conferences (including the American Psychological Association) on assessment and interventions.

Life Outside the Office

I live in the Annapolis area with my husband, son, and spunky miniature schnauzer. I was a collegiate athlete and I understand the importance and difficulty of balancing responsibilities and self-care, which many of my patients experience. Outside of the office, I make sure to take care of myself through working out, cycling, spending time with my family and friends, baking, and rooting for the Buffalo Bills!
