I am a Licensed Psychologist in Maryland and work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. As a school psychologist by training with a health psychology specialization, I have experience working in schools, community mental health clinics, hospitals, and primary care offices. I use this range of experiences to inform my evidence-based approach of integrating skills and strategies from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), into a supportive therapeutic environment. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, school challenges, stress and transitions, health-related coping, adjustment to health challenges, sleep disorders, migraines, chronic medical conditions (EDS, POTS), needle fears, feeding and toileting concerns, and medical treatment adherence. I am also experienced in administering psycho-educational and psycho-diagnostic assessments to evaluate intellectual, learning, and psychiatric concerns. I always work to meet my clients where they are, and am passionate about helping my clients build the insight and awareness needed to make healthy and adaptive changes in their lives. The link between our physical and mental health is vital to all aspects of wellness, and I am fortunate to be able to help individuals of all ages improve their health and well-being.

Professional Experience

I received my doctoral degree in school psychology with a specialization in health psychology from Rutgers University. There, I focused on school re-entry for students following medical absence, collaborative healthcare, and generally providing evidence-based mental healthcare in collaboration with educational and medical institutions. At the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, I worked on interdisciplinary teams in the pediatric sleep disorders and pediatric outpatient oncology clinics. My work in schools focused on administering individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, assessment, and administrative consultation.

Life outside the office

I was born and raised in Philadelphia and am a city girl at heart. I recently moved to Annapolis with my husband and our dog and am soaking in all that the western shore has to offer. In my free time, I enjoy spending time on the water, exploring new restaurants, exercising, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Fluehr works in the Annapolis location and provides telehealth services. She will be credentialed with Tricare, USFH, and JH EHP insurance for therapy services. She also conducts psychological testing, but testing fees are out of network.
