Neuropsychological testing is a way of examining brain function and obtaining information regarding one’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Neuropsychological assessment includes a systematic evaluation of academic skills, intelligence, memory, attention, language, problem-solving skills, visual processing skills, motor abilities, and emotional functioning.
During a neuropsychological evaluation we will first discuss your concerns and medical history in detail. Next, a battery of neuropsychological and psychological tests will be administered to get a comprehensive assessment of your strengths and weaknesses. The evaluation is tailored to the purpose of the assessment and may take up to 5 hours. We will review the results of the evaluation together and generate a plan to leverage your strengths to side-step any cognitive weaknesses that are present.
Cost: $4,000 for the full evaluation.
Older Adult Cognitive Impairment Screening
As we age, our thinking skills change. You may notice difficulty recalling details of conversations, remembering why you entered a room, or recalling the name of an acquaintance. In some individuals, these changes may indicate neurologic changes that are more pronounced than normal aging. Early detection of cognitive impairment in older individuals allows them to receive the most benefit from treatment options at the earliest point possible. It also allows individuals and their loved ones to plan for the future. We offer a cognitive impairment screening to assess for potential changes in brain functioning.
The Older Adult Cognitive Impairment Screening is offered to individuals over the age of 60. The evaluation includes an interview with you and a loved one as well as neuropsychological testing of memory, attention, problem-solving skills, language and other areas of thinking. The testing may take up to 2 hours. We will meet to review the test results in detail and discuss recommendations for compensating for any weaknesses identified. Through this screening we hope to lessen any anxiety you or your loved ones may have about unknown cognitive problems.
Cost: $1,500 per screening
