Tana Clarke

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and co-founder of Waypoint Wellness Center. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with attention and behavior problems, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum symptoms, trauma, and self-harm behaviors. I also have experience and expertise in psycho-educational and neuropsychological assessment.

My theoretical orientation lies in skills-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) that attempt to empower individuals to manage their emotional well-being more effectively. I also have a certification in DBT through the DBTNCAA.

Professional Experience

I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park and have a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology. I have trained at several local, nationally recognized institutions including the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Children’s National Medical Center. I have presented at numerous conferences (including the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies) and authored several journal articles on the assessment and treatment of psychological issues in both children and adults. My role at Waypoint Wellness Center involves primarily training and supervision of developing clinicians, as well as business development. I do not accept new patients, but I am available for forensic assessment services.

Life Outside the Office

I live in Annapolis and in my free time I enjoy yoga, hanging with our puppy Rocco, and experiencing all that Annapolis has to offer with friends and family.

Dr. Clarke is NOT taking new patients.
