Tana Clarke, PhD
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with attention and behavior problems, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum symptoms, trauma, and self-harm behaviors. I enjoy collaborating with schools and treatment providers to create a comprehensive approach to a child's care. I also have experience and expertise in psycho-educational and neuropsychological assessment.
I also provide assessment and treatment of adults of all ages and have experience treating anxiety, depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, personality disorders, stress and trauma. My practice specializes in skills-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) that attempt to empower individuals to manage their emotional well-being more effectively. I also have a certification in DBT through the DBTNCAA.
I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park. I have trained at several local, nationally recognized institutions including the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Children's National Medical Center. I have presented at numerous conferences (including the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies) and authored several journal articles on the assessment and treatment of psychological issues in both children and adults.
