I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in Child and Adolescent care, but also enjoy seeing young and middle-age adults. I pride myself in staying up to date on the latest research, as I have an appreciation for evidence-based care and using gold standard treatment measures.

Professional Experience

I received my first nursing degree as a Clinical Nurse Leader from Georgetown University in 2017. This degree prepared me to work as a Registered Nurse and I opted to specialize in pediatrics, as I love working with children. In 2020 I went back to school to earn my degree as a Psychiatric NP from The University of Virginia. While in NP school I completed my practicum training on the Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Inova, Fairfax. Following graduation I was lucky enough to continue my time with Inova on the Adolescent unit, where I have worked for the past 2.5 years. Due to my time there, I am very comfortable working with those in crisis who are dealing with intense thoughts of suicide, recently have attempted suicide, those experiencing psychosis or a severe mood disorder. This experience has prepared me for working with a variety of psychiatric illnesses and working with the patient and families to stabilize them so they are safe to discharge home to work with outpatient teams. As I have primarily worked in crisis stabilization, I am looking forward to seeing the outpatient treatment side of care, but feel my acute training has prepared me to manage any situation that may come my way! I have really enjoyed my time on the Adolescent unit, but my family has relocated to the Annapolis area, so I am excited to find a position closer to home! I really enjoy working with children and adolescents as I love working with the whole family and finding solutions that benefit everyone. Although I primarily am responsible for medication management, I incorporate therapy into all my sessions. I am also a firm believer that medication in tandem with therapy produces the best treatment outcomes. Additionally, I will only recommend medication if I feel it will benefit the patient and is appropriate. For children and adolescents, I will work in tandem with therapists and schools to ensure your child is well supported on all fronts. I am comfortable working with the following diagnoses: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, substance use, personality disorders. I have worked closely with many patients that identify with the LGBTQ community and pride myself in offering a safe space for individuals from all walks of life.

Life outside the office

I am originally from Warrenton, Virginia, but lived and worked in DC for many years, and moved to Annapolis in 2023. When I’m not in the office, I love spending time with my daughter and husband, as well as our lovable and fluffy corgi, Bingley. I thoroughly enjoy spending time outdoors and I’m happy any time I’m by the water! I absolutely love the Annapolis community and feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to help those struggling with mental health concerns in this area.

Margot provides telehealth and in-person services out of our Annapolis and Severna Park location. She will be credentialed with Carefirst, Tricare, USFH and JH EHP.
