I am a Psychology Associate in MD and a doctoral extern working under the supervision of Dr. Allyson Kett. I’m pursuing my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Stevenson University. I obtained my Master’s in Psychology at CUNY Queens College and my Bachelor’s at SUNY Stony Brook University. My theoretical orientation is integrative work, drawing from multiple evidence-based approaches while maintaining cultural sensitivity and a person-centered focus. I prioritize the client’s input and believe in a collaborative approach to promoting optimal care and supporting the client in reaching their goal.

Professional Experience

My experience has primarily been in educational and private practice settings. I have supported children and families emotionally, helped build social-emotional skills, and developed interpersonal relationships in a structured environment across diverse cultural backgrounds.

My research background has been focused on borderline personality disorders and trauma, and I’m passionate about integrating new evidence-based practice into clinical settings to enhancecare and treatment outcomes.

As a first-generation Salvadorian American, I bring a culturally informed perspective to my work and the ability to integrate cultural dynamics into a clinical setting. I’m committed to lifelong learning and providing a compassionate, supportive role to validate the client’s experience, whether they are a child, adolescent, or adult, to promote wellness.

Life outside the office

I live in Owing Mills, MD, and in my free time, I like to try new restaurants, engage in self-care, and travel to New York to spend time with my family.

Diana starts her psychology externship at Waypoint in August of 2025. She works in the Linthicum location and she also provides telehealth services. She will be credentialed with Carefirst insurance.
