I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in Maryland. I have experience providing psychiatric assessments and medication management for children, teens, and adults ages 6+. I utilize evidence-based practice and engage in shared-decision making in order to work together to accomplish the best outcomes.
Professional Experience
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and my Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. During my psychiatric training, I worked at both Waypoint Wellness Center and an additional outpatient mental health clinic focused on pediatric care, which together have exposed me to patients of all ages. I’ve worked with individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use. My approach is centered on getting to know you as a whole person-not just your symptoms. I believe in creating personalized treatment plans that may include medication, therapy, and other supportive strategies, always with a strong focus on shared decision-making so you feel involved and heard in your care. Before specializing in psychiatry, I spent 7 years as an Emergency Room nurse, including 3 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the complexity of both physical and mental health, and it ultimately inspired me to focus on mental health care. Working with patients of all ages and backgrounds helped me shape my compassionate, open-minded approach.
Life Outside of the Office
I’m a Maryland native who loves being outdoors—especially hiking and exploring with my wife and our two dogs. In my free time, you’ll usually find me traveling, working out, checking out concerts, or trying new food spots. And during football season, I’m almost always wearing purple on Fridays—go Ravens!
Simone has office hours in our Linthicum location and will also see patients via telehealth. She will be credentialed with Carefirst, Tricare, USFH, and JH EHP.
