Carrie Cleveland

I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker, Clinical. My work is focused on helping people navigate challenging times in their lives. I have experience working with people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, gender identity, parenting challenges, life transitions, self-harming behaviors, and complicated medical diagnosis. I have training in cognitive behavioral therapy, gender affirming care, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I work from a systems approach, taking into account all the factors that affect people’s lives. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and the client can be powerful and therapeutic. I will work with you to identify goals and introduce skills to help you better understand how best to deal with the challenges you are facing at this time in your life.

Professional Experience

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 2016. I have extensive training in working with gender diverse clients and have presented to various associations on gender diversity and sexual health and wellness. I am currently pursuing a certificate in advanced training in affirmative therapy for transgender communities through Widener University. I also have experience working with children and adults with complex medical diagnosis, I previously worked at the YWCA in Annapolis answering their crisis hotline and supporting women seeking shelter care due to intimate partner violence.
