Danielle Mitsch

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have experience providing comprehensive assessment and prescribing psychiatric medications for children and adults. I utilize evidence-based treatments when caring for patients.

Professional Experience

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2021. I received training in psychiatry using the Johns Hopkins method of psychiatry which focuses on comprehensive assessment and diagnosis and effective medication management using the least medication necessary to obtain the best results. This method helps to simplify medication regimens instead of adding more medications whenever possible. I have experience treating a variety of mental health concerns including ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use.

Also as a nurse working for Johns Hopkins Medicine, I chaired the Evidence-Based Practice and Research council in which we conducted research and developed and implemented hospital-wide protocols. We worked closely with the LGBTQ community members to develop a more sensitive approach to caring for this population. I have earned certifications in emergency nursing, trauma, pain management, and human research. I truly enjoy my work and strive to continually advance my practice through research and experiential learning.

Life Outside the Office

I am originally from New York and absolutely love calling Annapolis home! I spend much of my free time outdoors with my family hiking, swimming, running, and playing fetch with our dogs.

Danielle works in the Annapolis location and will also provide telehealth services. She is an out of network provider.
