I am a clinical extern and aspiring psychologist working under the supervision of Dr. Tana Clarke. After completing my Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Louisiana State University, I moved to the DMV area for graduate school. I obtained my Masters of Psychology from Divine Mercy University and am currently working towards my doctoral degree. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic techniques, allowing me to integrate techniques and tailor my work to the needs of each client. In sessions, I focus on establishing a warm, welcoming, and strong therapeutic relationship that will enable us to challenge unhelpful patterns and thoughts together and cultivate new ones that will help you flourish. I am passionate about empowering my clients to better understand themselves, process their experiences in a transformative way, and put all that they are learning into practice outside of sessions.
Professional Experience
My professional experience includes working at various community mental health clinics, where I was able to gain experience working with clients of diverse ages, backgrounds, and presenting concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, peripartum difficulties, interpersonal issues, and more. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals who have experienced trauma and relational difficulties, those in military families, and college students and young adults. I have also gained experience conducting both cognitive and personality assessments, allowing me to hone skills with a variety of measures and client needs. My research interests include incorporating positive psychology into the formation and self-care of clinicians.
Life outside the office
Outside of work, I am an avid reader and music-listener. I enjoy going to concerts, exploring coffee shops and bookstores, trying new recipes, and spending quality time with friends.
