I am a Licensed MD Psychology Associate and doctoral intern working under the supervision of Drs. Allyson Kett and Suzanne Linkrouim. I specialize in working with children and adolescents experiencing difficulties with emotion regulation, anger, behavior concerns, anxiety, and mood. I enjoy helping children develop social skills and executive functioning skills when navigating challenges associated with ADHD, autism, or anxiety. Additionally, I seek to provide support for those navigating adjustments, family problems, grief, and trauma.
I am dedicated to creating a safe space where children can explore their emotions, develop a better understanding of themselves, and learn coping skills. My approach emphasizes building a strong therapeutic relationship with clients and their families through open communication, trust, empowerment, and incorporation of play and creativity. I strive to help intervene early and foster growth in young people, and to help parents understand their child and how to best support them. In my work, I often utilize trauma-informed principles, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, collaborative problem-solving, and a strength-based perspective.
Professional Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in sociology with a criminal justice concentration at Shepherd University in WV. I am currently in my fifth year of Stevenson University’s Psy.D. program, where I also earned my master’s in clinical psychology along the way. My research interests broadly center around interpersonal violence, media, trauma, and the social experiences of women. My dissertation focuses on the potential mental health effects of true crime media
consumption and how a trauma history may moderate this. I have received training through a variety of clinical placements including Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, GIFTS Mental Health Clinic, and Howard County Public School System. My experiences have focused on assessing and treating children and adolescents through providing comprehensive psychological evaluations, individual and family therapy, and school-based therapy. I also have non-clinical work experience serving survivors and secondary survivors of intimate partner violence, human trafficking, child abuse, and sexual assault.
Life Outside the Office
I currently live in Frederick County and enjoy exploring downtown, being outside, and cuddling up with my two cats.
