I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in Child and Adolescent care, but also enjoy working with adults. I see patients from ages 6-45. Although my primary role is in medication management, I incorporate therapy into all my sessions. Additionally, I firmly believe that medication, when appropriate, combined with therapy produces the best treatment outcomes.
Professional Experience
I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in 2017. This degree prepared me to work as a Registered Nurse and I specialized in pediatrics, working at Children’s National Hospital in DC, for several years. I then earned an additional MSN degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from The University of Virginia.
While in NP school I completed my practicum training on the Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Inova, Fairfax. I was lucky enough to continue my time with Inova on the Adolescent unit, where I worked as an NP for several years. Due to my time there, I am very comfortable working with those in crisis who are dealing with intense thoughts of suicide, recently have attempted suicide, those experiencing psychosis or a severe mood disorder. This experience has prepared me to work with a variety of psychiatric illnesses and to collaborate with the patient and families to determine the most therapeutic and supportive treatment plan. I am especially passionate about the pediatric population, as I love working with the whole family and finding solutions that benefit everyone. I also enjoy working with adults and
I am comfortable working with the following diagnoses: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders. I have worked closely with many patients that identify with the LGBTQ community and pride myself on offering a safe space for individuals from all walks of life.
Life outside the office
I am originally from Virginia, but have loved living in the vibrant town of Annapolis. When I’m not in the office, I love spending time with my family, as well as our lovable and fluffy corgi, Bingley. I thoroughly enjoy spending time outdoors and I’m happy any time I’m by the water!
Margot provides telehealth and in-person services out of our Annapolis and Severna Park location. She will be credentialed with Carefirst, Tricare, USFH and JH EHP.
