I am a licensed psychologist in Maryland and Virginia, as well as a Certified Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) provider. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, parents, and individuals in the perinatal period. My areas of focus include mood and anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), trauma, social and behavioral challenges, parenting difficulties, co-occurring medical conditions, and perinatal grief and loss.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in connection. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to improve individual well-being and overall family functioning. I also have specialized training and experience in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), play therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Using a relational framework alongside these treatment modalities, I tailor therapy to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual and family. I strive to create a supportive, strengths-based space that welcomes people of all identities and cultural backgrounds.

In addition to offering therapy, I conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and facilitate several groups, including the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®), Circle of Security Parenting (COSP), Perinatal ACT (P-ACT), and WePlay!.

Professional Experience

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology, specializing in infant, early childhood, and perinatal mental health. I completed a predoctoral internship in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of California, Davis, where I provided therapy and assessment services to children and adolescents. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Perinatal Mental Health and Prenatal Pediatrics at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, where I conducted evaluations for young children and supported adults navigating complex fetal diagnoses and NICU/CICU admissions.

I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, such as private practices, hospitals, pediatric clinics, community mental health centers, and schools. I value interdisciplinary collaboration and enjoy engaging with other professionals involved in families’ care.

Life Outside the Office

Originally from Maryland, I now live in Annapolis with my husband. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cycling, walking, and listening to music. I love being at the beach and can be found there most summer weekends—and well into the fall!

Dr. Flynn has office hours in our Annapolis and Severna Park locations and will also see patients via telehealth. She will be credentialed with Carefirst, Tricare, USFH, and JH EHP.
