Maggie Wilson

MA, 2025-26 Doctoral InternEmail »mwilson@waypointwellnesscenter.com

I am psychology associate working under the supervision of Drs. Tana Clarke and Suzanne Linkroum and a doctoral intern pursuing my Psy.D. at Stevenson University, where my research centers on the relationship between mindfulness and psychological resilience. I hold a B.S. in Counseling and Human Services and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, both from Stevenson University, and have spent the past three years providing psychological services and conducting psychological assessments with young children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient settings. I have worked with clients who struggled with various forms of depression, anxiety, life transitions (college, divorce, losing employment, navigating chronic health concerns, incarceration, grief), LGBTQIA issues, relationship and interpersonal problems, and self-esteem concerns. I hold a special place in my heart for trauma-informed care and feel deeply honored to support clients in their healing journeys with compassion, patience, and respect for their lived experiences.

My clinical orientation is primarily humanistic, and I often integrate multicultural, psychodynamic, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) perspectives into my work. I aim to meet clients where they are, fostering insight and awareness while offering unconditional positive regard. I am passionate about creating a safe, collaborative space for clients to explore their challenges and reconnect with their most authentic selves.

As I continue to develop my professional identity, I’ve become increasingly drawn to holistic and somatic approaches to healing. I believe that addressing both mental and physical health needs is essential for lasting well-being. My interest in mindfulness-based work has deepened through both personal practice and clinical experience, and I am eager to support clients through practices that enhance emotional resilience, self-compassion, and embodied awareness.

I value meaningful connections and strive to bring warmth, curiosity, and cultural humility to every therapeutic relationship. I am committed to lifelong learning, personal growth, and supporting others on their path toward healing and wholeness.

Professional Experience

I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including private practice, community mental health centers, and school settings. For the last two years, I have worked as a testing coordinator, where I helped expand access to comprehensive psychological assessment services, working closely with individuals and families to clarify diagnoses and support appropriate treatment planning throughout Maryland communities, including gender-affirming care and disability services. I have held an adjunct faculty position at Stevenson University, where the course I taught focused on building resilience through mindfulness.

Life Outside the Office

Born and raised in the beautiful state of Maryland, I can likely be found outside hiking, meditating, or walking my dalmatian, Patch. On rainy or snowy days, or just days when I need some rest or relaxation, I also enjoy reading and crafting, or watching science fiction shows and movies (such as Marvel films or “Game of Thrones,” “House of the Dragon,” and “The Boys.”)

Maggie starts her psychology internship at Waypoint in August, 2025. She works in the Annapolis location and she also provides telehealth services. She is credentialed with Carefirst insurance.
